Futur simple ou futur antérieur – Qu’est que c’est?
1. Simple Future (Futur Simple)
When to use: For actions that will happen in the future.
Endings: Same for all verbs:
-je: -ai
-tu: -as
-il/elle: -a
-nous: -ons
-vous: -ez
-ils/elles: -ont
Examples:
• Regular -er verbs: I will speak = Je parlerai
• Regular -ir verbs: You will finish = Tu finiras
• Irregular aller: She will go = Elle ira
Special Cases:
• Double consonants: I will call = J’appellerai
• Accent changes: I will buy = J’achèterai
• Stem-changing verbs: I will see = Je verrai
2. Future Perfect (Futur Antérieur)
When to use: For actions that will be completed before another future action.
Formation:
Future of avoir/être + past participle
Examples:
• With avoir: I will have eaten = J’aurai mangé
• With être: She will have left = Elle sera partie
• In sentences:
When I will have finished, I’ll leave =
Quand j’aurai fini, je partirai
