Understanding the “Futur Simple” Tense
The futur simple is used to talk about future projects, intentions, or events that are going to happen soon or later. It is often used to express what will happen.
Formation
- Use the infinitive form of the verb as the base.
- If the verb ends with -e (like “prendre”, “aimer”), remove the final -e before adding the endings.
- Add the following endings:
- ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont
Examples: - Parler → je parlerai, tu parleras, il/elle parlera, nous parlerons, vous parlerez, ils/elles parleront - Finir → je finirai, tu finiras, il/elle finira, nous finirons, vous finirez, ils/elles finiront - Prendre → je prendrai, tu prendras, il/elle prendra, nous prendrons, vous prendrez, ils/elles prendront
