Exercise: Conjugating Verbs Like Appeler

Practice conjugating double-consonant verbs (appeler, jeter, rappeler, projeter, rejeter) in the present tense.
Remember:
1. The consonant (l or t) doubles in the same forms (e.g., j’appelle but nous appelons).

1. Fill in the Blanks

Conjugate the verb for each subject.

Je (appeler) → J’appelle mon ami.

Tu (jeter) → Tu jettes le papier.

Il (rappeler) → Il rappelle la règle.

Nous (projeter) → Nous projetons un film.

Vous (appeler) → Vous appelez le médecin.

Elles (jeter) → Elles jettent les déchets.

2. Sentence Correction

Fix the incorrect conjugations (watch for missing double consonants!).

Elle apele sa mère. →

Nous jetons la balle. →

(Note: “Nous” form is correct—no doubling needed!)

3. Translation Challenge

Translate into French using double-consonant verbs:

I call my teacher. →

They (fem.) throw the ball. →

4. Creative Writing

Write 3 sentences about daily routines using at least 2 different double-consonant verbs. Highlight the verbs.
