Practice forming and using ordinal numbers in French.

1. Write the Ordinal Form (Include premier/première for gender):

“1st (masculine)” →
“1st (feminine)” →
“3rd” →
“5th” →
“10th” →
“15th” →
“20th” →

2. Match the Ordinal to Its Cardinal Equivalent:

“septième” →
“douzième” →
“dix-neuvième” →

3. Correct the Errors (Spelling/Gender):

“quatrème” →
“huitème” →
“premiere” (masculine) →

4. Fill in the Blanks with Ordinals:

“Le ___ (4th) étage est occupé.” →
“C’est ma ___ (1st, fem.) visite à Paris.” →
“Ils ont fini ___ (17th) dans la course.” →

5. Translate into French (Include Gender!):

“This is my ninth coffee today.”

“She won the second prize.”

Notes:

  • Spelling Changes:
    • cinq → cinquième (add -u).
    • neuf → neuvième (drop -f).
    • vingt → vingtième (drop -t if followed by -ième).
  • Hyphens: Used in compounds (dix-septième).
